Prior to this release, the Nearby Vendors view always applied a distance filter based on the distance slider.
Fexa has added a Use Distance toggle, which allows users to opt out of using the Distance Slider. This will allow them to zoom in and out of the map and see Vendors from all over, regardless of area of the store.
When the distance filter is disabled, there will be no effect on the results returned. The map view is still focused on the facility’s location, but there will be no red overlay.
When the Nearby Vendors modal is opened, if there is a zone automatically selected, the distance filter will default to being toggled off, as by default, it will not factor in the distance when filtering by zone. If no zone has been automatically selected, then the distance filter will default to enabled.
Why is this helpful? This gives the user the option to filter by distance or zone.
When a facility is in a Zone, and the user opens the nearby vendor modal, users will only see the vendors who service the area the facility is in, based on the zone. Again, this will eliminate any vendors on the modal that are able to provide service in the facility’s zone. This can be beneficial, for example, if a specialty vendor is 200 miles away from the store, but they are the only one in the state who will provide a specific service.
Lastly, a text input field has been added to the nearby vendor modal to allow users to manually enter the distance in miles they would like to apply to their results. This added field will permit users who have difficulty with the slider in the smaller miles range to simply enter the number of miles. This number will round up. Users will also need to hit enter after entering the desired number of miles.
