Year Over Year Spend Analysis

The Year Over Year Spend Analysis page shows the trend of the Total Vendor Invoices per month. From this data the dashboard:

  • Flags if some monthly totals are unusually high or low.

  • Shows you Invoice total % changes month over month

The dashboard aims to give the user a cursory glance if there is an anomalous result in the Vendor Invoice totals based on historical data, which may necessitate further investigation.

Details:

  • Chart's time period is based on Invoice Approval Date
  • The line trend represents Vendor Invoice Total
  • The shaded area represents the upper and lower normal range of values. This is calculated based on the average Vendor Invoice and ±1 Standard Deviation.
    • Note that ±1 Standard Deviation essentially flags the top  and bottom 16% of months.

Details:

  • Chart's time period is based on Invoice Approval Date
  • It shows the Vendor Invoice Total's change compared to the previous month, and visualizes an increase or decrease with the direction and color of the arrowhead.
